In short:
Those (a fair number, it seems) who want to change Church teaching on marriage (and/or on divorce-and-remarriage, the necessity of repentance from sin for reconciliation, withholding holy Communion from those persisting in objective grave sin, etc.) are not satisfied with Mitis because Mitis changes none of those things.
Those (a few, I suspect) who think no reforms of the annulment process itself are needed, are not satisfied with Mitis because Mitis offers some genuine reforms.
Those (many, I am sure) who want some reform of the annulment process, but not reforms that provide an obvious way to circumvent the deliberate process, are not satisfied with Mitis because Mitis reforms the tribunal process while simultaneously offering a way for many to circumvent it.
In short, I don’t know who is, or could be, satisfied with Mitis as it stands.

On Pope Francis and Church Integrity

In the Path to Rome, Belloc remarked that as one gets older he becomes more concerned with the human side of the supernatural Church. This famous walk took place in 1901 when Leo XIII (1810-1903) was still alive in his nineties. He did not resign. Indeed, Leo was in his late sixties when elected. No one at the time expected him to last twenty-five quite fruitful years.
Recently, in what I read and in what I hear from others, there are increasing numbers Catholics who are genuinely concerned about the integrity of the Church. The one thing that Catholicism had going for it, in the eyes of many, was its consistency, its stability of doctrine and practice, its claim that it retained what was “handed down” in its fullness. What is different, as far as I can judge, is not the old complaint, namely, that Catholicism “claims to be true,” but the new unsettlement that it is acting like it does not think it is true. Joel Osteen, the Houston televangelist, when he met Pope Francis recently, praised him not for any doctrinal stability but for the Pope’s inclusiveness in wanting to bring everyone in.
We have seen almost every mainline Protestant church join the forces of modernity. They have accepted the norms of life from the culture rather than standing against it. This fact has often been the origin of a steady stream of Protestants, especially Protestant clergymen, into the Catholic Church. But the Catholic Church, whose intellectual stature was never higher than under John Paul II and Benedict XVI, is now nervously seen by many as “wobbly.” Pope Francis does not consider himself an “intellectual”; he is not overly concerned with intellectual issues. Often, like many of us, he is heard criticizing theologians and academics. He gathers about himself not a few advisors in economics, ecology, or other fields.
A good portion of world opinion, however, expects that the Church, whether it says so or not, now accepts divorce, contraception, abortion, “gay marriage,” and such things, or, if not quite yet, soon will. Francis is their man even when he explicitly denies that he holds these views. What does one say to good people who are troubled about these issues?
---
In the light of such upsetting concerns, however one judges their validity, I have seen several approaches. First, for example, take the issues raised by what the Pope Francis has said about capitalism and ecology. His views are wildly popular in socialist, Marxist, community-development, and “human rights” circles. In these areas, the Pope himself has recognized, along with classic Catholic teaching, that neither the Church nor he himself has any particular competence in these areas. The Pope only claims to be calling attention to grave issues of poverty and pollution. What in concrete needs to be done is up to people with direct responsibility and competence.
The oft-discussed issues of earth warming and whether the Qur’an advocates violence are open to diverse interpretations. Pope Francis maintains that earth warming is a dangerous fact, but insists the Qur’an does not advocate violence and war. Experts can be found who panic about earth warming; we can find Muslim scholars who cannot find violence in the Qur’an. So, we might say that the Pope’s positions are backed by scholarly opinions. The only trouble with this approach is that other scholars in both areas find evidence that the opposite views are more persuasive and valid. What disturbs people is not the Pope’s authority for his views but his seeming unawareness of opposing evidence.
----
The Pope, as I read him, has a strategy. Basically, he does not want to deal with controversial issues, at least the traditional ones, until after people are back in the Church. He figures—he is an optimist here—that there will be time enough to resolve difficulties later. In this sense, he downplays the importance of life issues not because he contests them but because few will listen to reason about the living issues they raise. He also seems to think that academics and clerics who have very dubious ideas can be dealt with in a similar way: listen to them, let them talk all they want, even let them disturb the good souls of ordinary Catholics. No one will be able to say any longer that the Church did not listen to them.
...
The whole world will be looking on. The headlines “Church Changes Doctrine” are, no doubt, already in the “galleys” of many editors’ minds. Pope Francis is a Jesuit, and as such, he is in a unique position that no man in history has ever faced in quite the same way. That is, Jesuits vow obedience to the Pope precisely because Peter’s successor stands for the center of revelation and what it means. Pope Francis is thus, as it were, vowed to himself, to the Lord, to be that rock against which the Gates of Hell shall not prevail.
Are the opinions sketched out here valid? They are opinions that at least provide ways to respond to the many inquirers of those who sense that something is unsettling not outside but inside the Church. That there is also much unsettlement outside the Church is almost too painful to contemplate. Yet, ironically, the common theme in all of Pope Francis’ work thus far has been one of joy. If we combine Pope Francis’ joy with the hope we find in Benedict’s Spe Salvi, we can, I think, relax a bit.

Al Qaeda Leader Al-Zawahiri Declares War on ISIS 'Caliph' Al-Baghdadi

By JAMES GORDON MEEK

Just ahead of the fourteenth anniversary of al Qaeda's 9/11 attacks on the U.S., the leader of the terrorist group took aim in an angry speech at a mortal enemy -- but not American “crusaders” this time. Rather, the object of his tirade was the leader of ISIS in a declaration of war that will “irreconcilably” divide the two terror groups in a way the U.S. may be able to exploit, experts say.
Ayman al-Zawahiri, the Egyptian doctor who replaced Osama bin Laden as the head of al Qaeda four years ago, in a new audio message accused ISIS top leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of “sedition” and insisted the Iraqi terrorist recluse was not the leader of all Muslims and militant jihad as “caliph” of the Islamic State, as al-Baghdadi had claimed 14 months ago in a Mosul mosque.
“It’s pretty interesting,” said former National Counterterrorism Center Director Matthew Olsen. “Zawahiri until now has not been willing to openly condemn Baghdadi and ISIS. It highlights how deep the division is between al Qaeda leadership and ISIS. It suggests that the differences are irreconcilable.”
Had ISIS and al Qaeda realigned by joining forces, it “would be terrible,” said Olsen, an ABC News contributor.
That division -- now formally declared by the highest ranking official of the group that slaughtered almost 3,000 Americans 14 years ago in multi-pronged aviation attacks -- could provide an opening that American counter-terrorism operatives could find a way to exploit, he added.
Olsen said the U.S. could use misinformation to further pit the two jihadi menaces against each other and encourage the series of gunfights and assassinations each has waged against the other -- like when ISIS reportedly killed a top Zawahiri emissary trying to broker a ceasefire between the fighters in Syria in February 2014.
The fledgling franchise in Afghanistan and Pakistan, known as IS Khorasan Province, “has been fighting non-stop” with the Taliban and al Qaeda there, a counter-terrorism official told ABC News. “Fighting each other makes our job easier,” said the official in Afghanistan.
In the new audio tape, which was released online Wednesday and accompanied by a still image or al-Zawahiri and text of his speech, the al Qaeda leader appeared to confirm that he had not directly addressed infighting among the jihadis of ISIS and al Qaeda’s Syrian wing, Jabhat al-Nusra or the al Nusra Front, for fear of legitimizing ISIS.
ISIS, formerly the al Qaeda branch in Iraq, split from the larger group two years ago. In the tape, al-Zawahiri complained that Baghdadi had ignored Muslims suffering in Gaza and in Pakistan.
“We preferred to respond with as little as possible, out of our concern to extinguish the fire of sedition,” Zawahiri explained, “but Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his brothers did not leave us a choice, for they have demanded that all the mujahideen reject their confirmed pledges of allegiance, and to pledge allegiance to them for what they claim of a caliphate.”
“Everyone was surprised” by Baghdadi’s declaration anointing himself the fourth caliph in Islamic history, Zawahiri remarked, saying al-Baghdadi had done this “without consulting the Muslims.”
Al-Zawahiri's sour grapes speech, however, appeared to have been recorded last spring, analysts said, and reiterated past pledges of loyalty to Taliban leader Mullah Omar, who recently was confirmed dead by the Taliban. That appeared to mark a rare misstep for al Qaeda and al-Zawahiri, who once was able to leak his videotaped response to news events as quickly as one week later, but who now is in hiding with a $25 million U.S. bounty on his head.
Nicholas Palarino, a recently retired senior congressional counter-terrorism adviser who teaches about terrorism at Georgetown University, said al-Zawahiri being forced to call out al-Baghdadi weakens the power of both al Qaeda and ISIS and may offer Arab governments a window of opportunity to drive a wedge between the jihadi groups and those who are flocking to fight in Syria and Iraq.
“Moderate Muslims need to exploit this rift. The leaders of Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt can explain the differences between these two groups to the world’s Muslims,” Palarino said.
Though it didn't foresee the rise of ISIS, former CIA Director Michael Hayden said the intelligence community had predicted a rift in al Qaeda emerging after bin Laden's death -- something like what's happening now between ISIS and al Qaeda, which the U.S. could use to its advantage.
"It would be a good idea to do so. We always thought that the death of bin Laden could create a rift between the Egyptians and the other Arabs inside al Qaeda since Zawahiri was an Egyptian. Seems to have played out," former CIA Director Michael Hayden told ABC News.
When it comes to exploiting the rift between two deadly extremist groups, however, Hayden cautioned, "You need to be careful."

Estado Islâmico Põe a Venda um Norueguês e um Chinês

Vejam o cartaz acima.

“To whom it may concern of the Crusaders, pagans, and their allies, as well as what are referred to as human ‘rights’ organizations, this prisoner was abandoned by his government, which did not do its utmost to purchase his freedom.”

A ONU Responde.

I am sorry, but when a quarter of a million angry and violent young men from a place and culture that hates you, show up on your doorstep, it's not a refugee crisis, it's an invasion.

Infelizmente.

1) Cidadãos de diversos países, como Paquistão, Afeganistão e Bangladesh, estão aproveitanto a guerra na Síria para abdicar de suas cidadanias e se tornarem sírios, mesmo com passaportes falsos, para poderem entrarem na Europa e ficarem vivendo sob às custas dos estados europeus;

Vejamos texto do Washington Post:

Hungarian bishop says pope is wrong about refugees

Pope Francis’s message Sunday couldn’t have been clearer: With hundreds of thousands of refugees flowing into Europe, Catholics across the continent had a moral duty to help by opening their churches, monasteries and homes as sanctuaries.
On Monday, the church’s spiritual leader for southern Hungary — scene of some of the heaviest migrant flows anywhere in Europe — had a message just as clear: His Holiness is wrong.
“They’re not refugees. This is an invasion,” said Bishop Laszlo Kiss-Rigo, whose dominion stretches across the southern reaches of this predominantly Catholic nation. “They come here with cries of ‘Allahu Akbar.’ They want to take over.”
The bishop’s stark language reflects a broader spiritual struggle in Europe over how to respond to a burgeoning flow of predominantly Muslim men, women and children onto a largely Christian continent.
The pope’s call for compassion and charity is competing with a view most prominently articulated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who has cast the flow of migrants as a direct challenge to Europe’s Christian character.
And in Hungary at least, it’s the prime minister’s view that seems to be winning out.
And despite the heat that Orban has taken worldwide for attempts to crack down on some of the globe’s most vulnerable people by halting their journeys or throwing them into prison, his stance has seemed to only burnish his reputation here as a no-nonsense nationalist who will defend the country against an onslaught of “tens of millions” of new arrivals.
“I’m in total agreement with the prime minister,” Kiss-Rigo said in an interview Monday.
The pope, by contrast, “doesn’t know the situation.”
The situation, as Kiss-Rigo describes it, is that Europe is being inundated by people who are posing as refugees but actually present a grave threat to the continent’s “Christian, universal values.”
Even though the majority of migrants who have crossed the border in southern Hungary are from Syria — where war has claimed more than 320,000 lives in the past four years — he judged them unworthy of assistance because most of them “have money.”
They leave rubbish in their wake, he said, and refuse when offered food.
“Most of them behave in a way that is very arrogant and cynical,” said Kiss-Rigo, who has been bishop for nine years in an area that is home to some 800,000 Catholics.
Aid workers on the border and at Budapest’s central train station — where hundreds of refugees awaited trains Monday to Western Europe — gave a different account. They described people desperate for assistance and grateful to receive it.
“When I first came to the station, it was filled with children and babies,” said Mark Balazs, a 34-year-old flight attendant. “I have three kids of my own. I imagined what I would do if there was a war here. I’d do the exact same thing they’re doing.”
For the past week, he has spent day and night at the station giving out food, clothes and diapers for Migration Aid, an all-volunteer Hungarian organization that sprang up several months ago to fill the void left by the government and more established charity groups.
The group’s efforts have not gone unnoticed by the migrants.
“You have a good people Hungaria,” was chalked on the station walls Monday as women searched through piles of donated clothes and children played with balls during a rare break in their epic and perilous travels.
But the volunteers are getting little support from larger aid organizations — particularly Christian charities.
Balazs Odor — an official with the Reformed Church in Hungary, the country’s second-largest denomination — acknowledged that faith groups had been slow off the mark in responding to the crisis.
“We were not fast or vocal in giving a clear reaction to the situation. I have to admit that,” he said.
Odor said he rejected Orban’s view that Christianity in Europe is under assault but said the arrival in Europe of hundreds of thousands of Muslims had unquestionably “created anxiety. And that’s politically misused.”
Hungary is not a particularly religious country, with a half-
century of communist rule having done much to curb the church’s influence and Sundays marked by the same thinly populated pews that dominate cathedrals across Europe.
But Orban’s attempts to position the country as a Christian bulwark against a Muslim onslaught strikes a deep chord in the national psyche, said Botond Feledy, a political analyst.
Hungary’s major national holiday still commemorates the country’s turn to Christianity, which dates back over a millennium. And nationalists often cite the country’s 17th-century defeat of its Ottoman occupiers as proof that Hungary is a critical European safeguard against malign influences to the east.
Orban has played the Christian card before, introducing a clause in the constitution that cites “the role of Christianity in preserving nationhood” and promoting religious education in the schools.
The tactic has worked for him, boosting his popularity.
But to Eva Varga, a 63-year-old doctor providing volunteer help to the migrants Monday, a refugee crisis is the wrong time to play religious politics.
“For me, there are no Christian patients and no non-Christian patients,” said Varga, who has provided medical help in countries around the world for the relief organization Hungarian Baptist Aid. “There are only my patients, and I’m obliged to take care of them.”
