Recentemente, eu li que o grande Michael Novak disse que Hillary Clinton é "invotável" para católicos, por conta da defesa que ela faz do aborto, do casamento gay e do secularismo e do ódio a católicos que ela possui.

Eu sou fã de Michael Novak, tive a honra de conhecê-lo nos Estados Unidos, de conversar com ele e de apresentar um artigo meu para ele. Foi demais vendo ele debater e elogiar meu texto.

Mas a Hillary Clinto é invotável também porque certamente ela é o candidato mais corrupto da história dos Estados Unidos. A corrupção de Lula e do PT são b rincadeiras de criança quando se fala dos Clinton, que envolve o marido dela, que além de ser corrupto, é acusado de estupro por muitas mulheres.

No Brasil, praticamente todo o círculo íntimo de Lula no poder está preso. Nos Estados Unidos, acontece o mesmo, todo o círculo íntimo de poder de Hillary Clinton está sob investigação.

No Brasil, Lula está na mira, mas deixaram ele 13 anos no poder. Deixarão o mesmo para os Clinton.

Aqui no Brasil, não se sabe sobre isso. A Globo e a Veja, por exemplo, são estupidamente e absurdamente viesada pró Clinton.

The extent to which Hillary Clinton's key advisers are now the focus of major FBI investigations is becoming clear.

The Clintons' long-term inner-circle - some of whom stretch back in service to the very first days of Bill's White House - are being examined in at least five separate investigations. 

The scale of the FBI's interest in some of America's most powerful political fixers - one of them a sitting governor - underlines just how difficult it will be for Clinton to shake off the taint of scandal if she enters the White House.

There are, in fact, not one but five separate FBI investigations which involve members of Clinton's inner circle or their closest relatives - the people at the center of what has come to be known as Clintonworld.

The five known investigations are into: Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin's estranged husband sexting a 15-year-old; the handling of classified material by Clinton and her staff on her private email server; questions over whether the Clinton Foundation was used as a front for influence-peddling; whether the Virginia governor broke laws about foreign donations; and whether Hillary's campaign chairman's brother did the same.

The progress of the Clinton Foundation investigation and that into McAuliffe was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. 

The FBI does not generally comment on investigations, so it is entirely possible there are more under way.

Huma Abedin: secrets and access - and perjury?

Probes: Clinton emails; Clinton Foundation 

Who is she: Currently vice-chair of the Clinton campaign she was has worked with Clinton for 21 years, since she was 19, as among other things, intern, 'body woman', chief of staff and senior adviser. 

Huma Abedin is now represented by attorneys as the FBI begins the lengthy process of examining a laptop seized in the inquiry into her estranged husband's sexting relationship with a 15-year-old.

It is the most recent  stage in the Clinton emails investigation in which the FBI has looked into whether Clinton and her staff broke strict laws on the handling of classified material while she was Secretary of State through their use of the now notorious Clintonemail.com server.

The case appeared to be closed in July when James Comey, the FBI director announced that Clinton would not be prosecuted. It was later made clear there would be no other prosecutions.

However last week's bombshell announcement that new emails were being examined put the focus squarely on 40-year-old Abedin.

Although the decision had been made not to prosecute, that was on the basis of the existing evidence at the time. But if the search finds new evidence of breaking laws about the handling of classified material, there is nothing to stop a prosecution of Abedin - or anyone else.

That, however, is not the only potential for a brush with the law for Abedin.

The FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation also drags her into the spotlight.

The probe, the Wall Street Journal reported, is into whether the Foundation was involved in financial crimes or influence-peddling.

That would directly draw in Abedin. Her overlapping series of roles while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State has been unmasked by emails published either as a result of lawsuits against the State Department, or hacked from John Podesta's account.

She was at various times Clinton's White House deputy chief of staff; her senior adviser; a consultant for Teneo Holdings; working for the Clinton Foundation.  

It was also revealed that while she was at the State Department where she was Clinton's gatekeeper, Abedin received emails from Doug Band - Bill Clinton's right-hand man at the Clinton Foundation - asking for help and access for 'friends' or 'friend of ours'.

And finally there is the possibility of a federal perjury case.

The discovery of a laptop during the Anthony Weiner sexting investigation by the FBI appears at odds with testimony she gave under oath as part of a deposition in a federal case that she had passed on all relevant devices to the FBI. 

Terry McAuliffe: Clinton cash from China

Probes: Clinton Foundation; links to foreign donations 

Who is he: Currently Democratic governor of Virginia. Has previously been prolific Clinton fundraiser and chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and chairman of Hillary's failed 2008 run for the White House. 

McAuliffe was a board member of the Clinton Foundation from at least 2004, so he will surely be caught up in investigations conducted by the FBI's Washington DC field office into whether it was used as a front for influence-peddling.

But the overlaps between him and the Foundation go further than that and into his own campaign for governor and related campaigning.

The Washington Post reported in 2015 how he and the foundation had 120 overlapping donors, who had given him, his campaign or his political action committee $13.8 million.

That political action committee then went on to fund another campaign - that of Dr Jill McCabe, whose husband Mark is currently the deputy director of the FBI. He was the assistant FBI director when Jill McCabe was running for state senator in Virginia.

The PAC controlled by McAuliffe, which had received money from Clinton Foundation donors, gave Jill McCabe more than $500,000, prompting her husband to stand back from the Clinton Foundation investigation.

Part of the $13.8 million is, however, involved in a second FBI investigation which focuses on McAuliffe personally regarding donations of $120,000 from a Chinese man called Wang Wenliang. 

The FBI is investigating whether donations made were in breach of a ban on foreign governments influencing US elections. Wenliang, a billionaire according to Forbes, is a member of the one-party state's parliament - as well as a donor to the Clinton Foundation.

He is also a US permanent resident and his donations came through a US firm.

This weekend's tidal wave of revelations also shed new light on an FBI investigation into the donations. 

McAuliffe's attorney was reported by the Wall Street Journal to have said that the investigation focused on whether he had previously failed to register as an agent of a foreign entity.

In May, when the revelation of the FBI foreign donations probe emerged,  McAuliffe denied ever meeting Wenliang. Then he backtracked - saying 'I did not deals' - when told by his staff that there were 'likely' several meetings.

DailyMail.com revealed footage of him going to a fundraiser also attended by Wengliang.

The venue was Hillary Clinton's Washington DC home and the attendees included Huma Abedin. 

The governor's lawyer told the Wall Street Journal the probe is focused on 'whether he failed to register as an agent of a foreign entity'. 

Cheryl Mills: Woman at center of ClintonworldProbes: Clinton Foundation; Clinton emails 

Who is she: Long-term Clinton lawyer who advised Bill during impeachment then Hillary over emails; Foundation director; State Department chief of staff.

Cheryl Mills is unusual among Clinton insiders; she has already cut a deal with the FBI.

She exchanged partial immunity from prosecution in return for opening her laptop to FBI review during the Clinton email investigation.

Mills was chief of staff under Clinton at the State Department and communicated extensively on the Clintonemail.com private server.

The deal with the Justice Department - headed by Attorney-General Loretta Lynch -  was hugely advantageous as it also limited the search to no later than January 31, 2015, the point at which  the server's existence became known to a Congressional committee.

In March backups of Clinton's emails were destroyed by a technician, a move which could have been seen as illegal destruction of evidence. 

And the deal allowed for the destruction of Mills' laptop. Heather Samuleson, another more junior aide, cut the same deal.

Mills went on to sit in with Clinton on her FBI interview in early July as her attorney, an unusual arrangement given that she had previously been a focus of the investigation.

However the renewed move by the FBI to examine the Huma Abedin emails on the Weiner laptop could set the immunity aside.

If they find new emails, those could open the way for prosecution. Equally, if they examine emails already seen on her laptop and conclude that they represent a case for prosecution over the handling of classified material, that too would be unlikely to be covered by the immunity deal.

In fact, any part of Mills' role in setting up the server could now be back in play. She was clearly identified in one of the Wikileaks emails as part of the reason for secrecy around Clinton.

That is only one of Mills' roles in Clintonworld which the FBI are concerned with.

The other is her role as director of the Clinton Foundation for two periods, 2004 to 2009 and then from 2013 on.

The influence-peddling investigation has not been the subject of public commentary by the FBI but would involve anyone who held a high-level role. 

Mills was heavily involved in the Foundation not just as a director, but while she was working at the State Department.

During that time it was at the center of a fierce battle between Chelsea Clinton and Doug Band, in which Band was effectively forced out.

Mills drew up a new structure for all of Bill Clinton's operations - at the time it was the William J. Clinton Foundation - and, Wikileaks publication of John Podesta's email shows - took part in a number of exchanges about it.

The State Department has previously said that Mills paid her own way to go to Clinton Foundation meetings in New York.

But neither the department nor the Clintons have addressed whether the FBI is looking at whether the Clinton Foundation monetized access to the Secretary of State through the overlapping roles of, among others, Mills and Abedin.

Phillipe Reines: What does he know of emails and access?

Who is he: Hillary Clinton press secretary when she was senator; press secretary to failed 2008 presidential campaign and spokesman for Chelsea during it; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Hillary; played Donald Trump in debate prep.

As one of her inner circle at the State Department, Phillipe Reines was one of those - he told the FBI - who Clinton turned to for help with her IT issues.

He also bought her an iPad in June 2010, when the technology was new.

Clinton was to go on to claim she only had 'one device'. Reines meanwhile used both his state.gov email and his personal gmail for government business while in office.

Reines was also deeply involved in responding to the Benghazi committee's demands for information about the server and the public relations response to it, Wikileaks emails from John Podesta's gmail have revealed.

However the other Clinton Foundation probe could also drag in Reines.

Reines was a key member of the inner circle when Clinton was Secretary of State.

His official title was 'deputy assistant undersecretary' for strategy, effectively her most powerful public affairs adviser. 

That means that any knowledge he has of how the Clinton machine in the State Department interacted with the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton Inc machines in Manhattan would be crucial to the FBI investigation

John Podesta: 'Dean' of Clintonworld

Probes: Clinton Foundation  

Who is he: Bill Clinton's first White House deputy chief of staff and later chief of staff; founder of DC lobbying firm Podesta & Podesta, now the Podesta Group; took charge of the Clinton Foundation in 2011 ; now Hillary campaign chairman; at 67, often seen as the 'dean' of the Clinton political machine.

The leaks from John Podesta's emails revealed by Wikileaks have shown how he was a key player in the Clinton Foundation - at precisely the time that the focus of the FBI influence-peddling investigation is likely to be.

At the time Clinton was Secretary of State and Doug Band, who had effectively run the foundation, wrote a memo which emerged in Podesta's leaked emails.

In it, Band detailed the overlap between the commercial activities of Bill Clinton and the charitable fundraising of the William J. Clinton Foundation (now the Clinton Foundation) - material which is likely to be pertinent to the influence-peddling case.

Podesta's role at Foundation lasted into 2012, so his knowledge of how it interacted with Hillary Clinton's aides - particularly Cheryl Mills, with whom he was in frequent contact, according to the emails - would be relevant to the FBI probe.

Eu já falei aqui no blog quem foi Martinho Lutero por meio do que disse o padre Richard Simon, que diz até que Lutero não declarou as 95 teses, que o Papa vai celebrar.

Hoje, apresento o livro acima, da especialista italiana em Lutero, Angela Pellicciari.

Angela deu uma entrevista para um jornal espanhol chamado Alfa y Omega e explicou porque ela considera que Lutero destruiu a verdade teológica, pavimentou a estrada do comunismo, do nazismo e do secularismo que temos hoje e deu poderes ao Estado, em detrimento da religião.

Angela ainda ressalta que o catolicismo está perigosamente adotando o protestantismo.

Ela tem razão.

Usted afirma que no se puede comprender a Lutero sin conocer su contexto histórico…

La historia de la corrupción es siempre la misma. En el siglo XIV, la Iglesia debía ser reformada, después de Avignon y del Cisma de Occidente. Italia y España ya habían comenzado esta reforma, y por eso la influencia de Lutero no llega a estos países, porque la vida de la Iglesia era sana. En Alemania la cosa era distinta; Lutero tuvo éxito porque era una persona sin escrúpulos, y porque otorga a los príncipes un poder absoluto, tanto en el plano temporal como en el espiritual. Para él, el Orden no es un sacramento, por lo que sacerdotes y obispos no deberían existir; y si no deben existir, entonces todas sus propiedades, ¿a quién deben ir a parar? Lutero lo tiene claro: a los príncipes alemanes. Así se hicieron con lo que entonces era un tercio de los bienes y propiedades de la Iglesia católica en la Alemania de aquel tiempo. Y esto lo justifica diciendo que es la voluntad de Dios. De eso se valieron los príncipes alemanes para arrebatar a la Iglesia todos sus bienes.

¿Entonces los príncipes alemanes utilizaron a Lutero como herramienta para alcanzar más poder y dinero?

Así es. La Iglesia siempre ha combatido el poder absoluto. Hasta el martirio incluso; en el Imperio Romano miles de mártires dieron su vida porque se negaron a dar al César lo que es de Dios. Lutero, en cambio, dio al César lo que es del César, ¡y también lo que es de Dios!

La avidez por el dinero está desde el inicio en el problema que generó Lutero. Esta envidia y deseo de dinero generarán después la Revolución Francesa y la Revolución de Octubre, y ya en nuestros días la revolución de la ideología de género. Lutero es el primer revolucionario de la historia. No es un reformador, es un revolucionario.

Menciona usted en el libro que Lutero tenía un problema con sus pecados, y que desesperaba de la misericordia de Dios. ¿De ahí surgió todo?

Yo me ocupo de los hechos históricos, no de psicología, aunque es indudable que Lutero fue una persona perturbada y un narcisista. Por ejemplo, él estaba convencido de ser el verdadero intérprete de Cristo, el único que podía anunciar el Evangelio puro.

Además, dice que tenía un odio visceral hacia los judíos.

Habla de ellos como «el odioso y maldito pueblo judío», y en “Sobre los judíos y sus mentiras” pide «imponer el trabajo duro a los judíos para que ganen el pan con el sudor de su frente». Es el precursor del Arbeit macht frei (El trabajo os hará libres), la frase que daba la bienvenida a los judíos en los campos de concentración nazis. El nacionalsocialismo tenía a Lutero como padre. De hecho, en la Alemania de los años 30 las zonas protestantes fueron mucho más favorables a Hitler que las zonas católicas. Lutero era un hombre dominado por el odio, contra los judíos y contra el Papa de Roma.

Pero Lutero no convenció al pueblo…

Los príncipes alemanes lo utilizaron para independizarse de Roma y obtener poder y dinero. Y por el Cuius regio, eius religio, las ideas de Lutero se impusieron en Alemania. Por la fuerza, porque cuando los campesinos se rebelaron contra los príncipes para recuperar derechos y costumbres medievales, Lutero se puso del lado de los príncipes y justificó el derramamiento de sangre que acabó la vida de 100.000 agricultores.

¿Entonces a lo que da pie Lutero es una revolución política?

Él no es un reformador, es un revolucionario dominado por el odio. Él destruyó la sociedad de su tiempo, además. Estableció una relación directa entre el individuo y Dios, privando a la persona de la comunidad. En la interioridad de nuestra propia conciencia uno puede hacer decir a Dios cualquier cosa que se le ocurra. Destruye la verdad teológica, una verdad que acabaron buscando los gnósticos, y luego los filósofos, primero sin la Revelación y después contra la Revelación. Para ser libres, como quería él. Porque él entendía la libertad como libertad de Roma, pero en cambio se sometía al príncipe de turno. Cambia un señor por otro. Spinoza y Locke tomarían como base esta idea de la libertad para fundar una filosofía iluminada solo por la razón, independiente de la verdad teológica, algo que confluiría más tarde en la masonería.

¿Es el precursor entonces del proceso de secularización que vendría después?

Sin duda. Y es el fundador de la gnosis. Da una fuerza enorme a la gnosis. De él viene el concepto de libertad moderna. Él entendía la libertad como libertad de Roma; los ilustrados, de la razón; la Revolución Francesa, de Dios; la revolución comunista de Dios y del poder; y la ideología de género, del cuerpo. Es él el que comenzó con este proceso, al destruir los vínculos comunitarios.

Es importante decir también que el concepto de libertad en Lutero es, paradójicamente, el de una libertad esclava. El hombre hace lo que Dios le obliga a hacer, o lo que el diablo le obliga a hacer. ¿Cómo se puede hablar tanto de libertad cuando uno es un esclavo? Es un pesimista sobre el hombre, y concibe a Dios como un monstruo.

¿Cree que hay algún elemento de «protestantización» hoy entre los católicos?

Por supuesto, basta con observar cómo cada uno interpreta a su modo el Magisterio de la Iglesia. Es una cosa muy seria, que llevan a cabo laicos, sacerdotes y obispos.

O Papa Francisco passou esse mês de outubro "celebrando" o luteranismo, contra tantos católicos que morreram na história para derrotar a heresia luterana, contra o que disse Chesterton, que a Reforma Protestante é o fato mais destrutivo da história da humanidade.

A tese do Papa Francisco, repetida várias vezes, é "o que nos une é maior do que nos separa".

Bom, qual o tamanho da não aceitação do maior ser humano da história: Nossa Senhora? Qual o tamanho da não aceitação da Eucaristia? Qual o tamanho da não aceitação de que o cristão é fé e atos e não apenas fé? Qual o tamanho da não aceitação de que os cristãos devem saber tanto a Bíblia como o magistério da Igreja?

Lutero foi excomungado pela Igreja em 1521.

Como eu relatei recentemente sobre um texto de Esolen, os católicos não devem se afastar da companhia de luteranos ou outros protestantes quando se luta por ideias comuns, como na luta contra o aborto, contra o casamento gay e contra o secularismo das escolas. Somos irmãos em armas nisso e com orgulho.

Mas há muitas diferenças importantes e muitas delas determinam se sua alma vai ser salva.

Catholic Faith To Be Defended During Pope Francis’ Participation in Commemorating the Luther-Led Protestant Revolution

As we approach the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s revolt against the Church, Pope Francis and the representatives of the Lutheran World Federation will participate in a joint liturgy in the Lutheran Cathedral in Lund, Sweden, followed by an ecumenical gathering in the nearby town of Malmö. This deeply troubling event, presided over by Pope Francis and Lutheran “bishops”, has the ostensible purpose of celebrating an event that led to centuries of bloodshed and the ultimate wreck of Christendom. These questions need to be asked: Why celebrate? Why should we be joyful about an event that led to the eventual demise of Western civilization? How can the Pope participate in such a scandalous event?

Representatives from The Fatima Center are in Lund and Malmö to remind Catholics, and the world, that there can be no reconciliation between truth and error. We will hold a press conference (details below) to set out our grave concerns and to invite all who share them to join us in our protest of this travesty, which confounds reason and insults the Catholic Faith and all who fought and died for it in the bloody revolution begun by Martin Luther. (For more about Luther and his beliefs, please see our daily news releases at www.fatima.org.)  We will distribute literature that explains in simple and clear language the differences that separate Catholics and Lutherans. We will offer Rosaries in reparation for this scandalous event and for the conversion of those who have fallen away from the Faith. Let us all appeal to Our Blessed Mother to shower us with the graces we need to come together again under Her mantle as one family, united in the truth.

We hold no enmity toward Lutherans, but we cannot pretend that contradictory beliefs can both be true, or that no contradiction exists, when it clearly does. Nothing can be built on a foundation of lies, no matter how many sweet words are poured forth and how many ecumenical embraces occur. Through Luther’s cry of “Faith Alone” and his rejection of the dogmatic and sacramental theology of the Catholic Church, Europe was shaken to its foundation and we live among the ruins. The only way to put the pieces together again is to invite those who have left the One True Church to return to Her loving embrace and receive the graces waiting for them in the sacraments instituted by Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  

What is at stake is the salvation of souls. Since there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church, we must do all we can, in the spirit of fraternal charity, to help those who have left their spiritual home to return to it. Love demands the truth, and the truth will set us free.

Vejam o vídeo abaixo dos soldados cristãos na cidade de Bartella, reconquistada das mãos do Estado Islâmico. Bartella fica a apenas 20 km de Mosul onde a luta continua contra os terroristas. Os terroristas ficaram em Bartella por dois anos.

Os cristãos fizeram um Cruz de madeira, bateram o sino, colocaram a Cruz em cima da Igreja, rezaram, choraram. É um vídeo lindo. Impossível não lembrar das Cruzadas, mesmo.

Desde 2003, é dito que o Iraque perdeu 2/3 dos cristãos que viviam por lá, e ainda falavam a língua de Cristo (aramaico). Só uma reconstrução completa, com apoio institucional forte do país e da coalizão que luta contra o Estado Islâmico, poderia fazer esses 2/3 voltarem. O cristianismo pode morrer por lá em questão de anos.

The Painful Liberation of Iraq’s Christian Heartland

ISIS forced the Christians of the Nineveh plain around Mosul to flee. Now they are returning, but in the key town of Qaraqosh, the fighting rages on.

QARAQOSH, Iraq—The church’s interior has been blackened by fire, and the altar has been vandalized. ISIS graffiti has been smeared on the walls, and songbooks lie burned on the ground. But the two priests, undeterred, make their way through the nave of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, climbing the narrow stairway to the mezzanine where the organ has been smashed, and emerge on the flat rooftop next to the belfry.

Here, the tolling of the bell of Iraq’s largest church once summoned 3,000 people to prayer on Sundays. Now the belfry is disfigured by cannon fire and the bell itself is gone, snatched from its chain.

Without hesitation, the priests climb on top of the arched roof running along the spine of the building. They are followed by a handful of men in military fatigues. A makeshift cross—two pieces of plywood strung together with copper wire—quickly follows, and the men begin feverishly to pile up stones to create a simple foundation.

Shots ring out nearby, and mortar rounds crash down a few hundred feet from the church, but within minutes the cross holds firm. Ecstatic, Father Majid and Father Amar burst into song, and the hallelujah rings out in Aramaic, the ancient language that links Iraq’s Christians to the genesis of their faith.

“I’m very happy now that we are able to return to our church,” says Father Amar after climbing back down from the roof, visibly shaken by emotion.

For over two years the Christians of Qaraqosh, Iraq’s largest Christian town, had been deprived of their place of worship. After ISIS stormed into Mosul in June 2014, the militants quickly turned their sights on the surrounding towns and villages, home to the majority of Iraq’s Christians. By August, they had taken Qaraqosh, forcing its 50,000 inhabitants to abandon the town.

But Father Amar’s joy at returning to his native Qaraqosh is tinged with sorrow about the destruction that surrounds him.

“Its very hard for us to see our town like this. Everything is damaged. Do you see that the bell of the church is missing? They destroyed it. Why? I don’t know,” says Father Amar, a middle aged man clad in black and wearing his clerical collar.

The Syriac Catholics worshipping in the Church of the Immaculate Conception have close links to the Vatican. Most Christians in Iraq are Assyrians, and still speak Aramaic, the language used by Jesus as he proselytized 2,000 years ago.

The Christian heartland lies in the north of the country, roughly tracing the boundaries of the ancient Assyrian empire, and Qaraqosh is one of a string of settlements in the Nineveh plains near Mosul that trace their origins back to the dawn of Christianity.

Since Islamist terror spread throughout Iraq in the wake of the U.S. invasion in 2003, the number of Christians has dwindled from around 1.5 million to roughly 500,000, perhaps even less. The rise of ISIS delivered the latest blow to the community.

With the campaign to rid Mosul of ISIS now under way, the jihadists are slowly being flushed out of the surrounding towns and villages and Nineveh’s Christians, most of whom sought refuge in the autonomous Kurdish region that managed to hold off ISIS, are looking forward to going back home.

“Of course we will return and rebuild it,” says Father Amar with emphasis.

But first, the jihadist menace needs to be fully vanquished in Qaraqosh, and that hasn’t happened yet.

The task to liberate Qaraqosh fell to the Iraqi army’s 9th Armored Division, which is helped by a small Christian militia known as the Nineveh Protection Units.

Equipped with U.S.-supplied Abrams main battle tanks, the 9th Division reached Qaraqosh on Oct. 19, but found the going tough against an elusive and fanatical enemy. ISIS launched a series of suicide car bombs against the army, and shifted positions in tunnels to attack unexpectedly.

Losses have been mounting. According to Major Mohammed, who heads the field hospital a few miles further back, 18 soldiers have lost their lives in Qaraqosh, and around 80 have been wounded.

Until now, the outskirts of town facing Mosul have not been cleared, and sniper fire rings out from areas that were thought safe. Given the army’s vast superiority in manpower and equipment, the failure to secure the town raises questions about its performance.

In an MRAP (mine resistant ambush protected vehicle) near the southern rim of the city, Maj. Fuad Jassem sits at his radio to receive information coming from units throughout the town. A voice crackles over the airwaves. It is a tank commander, who has just come under sniper fire. He requests permission to shift his 60-ton war machine to a safe position instead of engaging the enemy

Near the warehouses where the sniper was spotted, crews lounge next to their armored Humvees, warning off visitors from passing by on foot.

The Iraqis say inadequate coalition air support is a reason for their sluggish progress.

“Sometimes we see Daesh [ISIS] convoys come into the town, but the coalition does not bomb them,” says Maj. Jassem.

Inside the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the two priests are too caught up in their emotions to concern themselves with the slow progress of the army and the Christian militias.

“We are so happy to return to our church,” says Father Majid, who can barely keep his eyes from welling up.

In the spacious courtyard next to the church, where the Christians of Qaraqosh used to gather for religious festivals, the jihadists set up mannequins for target practice, and empty cartridges litter the stone floor. According to Maj. Jassem, ISIS stored weapons and ammunition in the church, knowing that it would not be bombed by the coalition.

As if at an excorcism, the priests and militiamen gather to light candles and place them on the altar. Then Father Amar and Father Majid sing again, and their voices echo through the nave, for a moment dispelling the gloom that hangs over these sacred precincts.

Essa semana, muitos sites falam de um refugiado da Síria chamado Ghazia, que trouxe 4 esposas e 23 filhos para a Alemanha.

Isso é só o probelma fiscal. O problema cultural é muito mais gigantesco.

Há pouco dias, eu estava na França. Enquanto passeava por shoppings por lá com meus dois filhos pequenos, imaginei que seria agradável para mim e para a minha esposa deixar meus filhos um pouco em alguma brinquedoteca para podermos descansar e almoçar mais tranquilos. Algo que é muito comum no Brasil. Mas não achamos nenhuma brinquedoteca ou algo semelhante. Daí eu fiquei pensando em como um trabalhador de uma brinquedoteca lidaria com crianças de diversas formações culturais e filhos de casais homossexuais, qualquer palavra a mais ou a menos poderia gerar um problema judicial que fecharia a empresa.

Dei graças a Deus pelo Brasil ainda ser culturalmente homogêneo.

Syrian refugee with FOUR WIVES and 23 CHILDREN ‘claims £320,000 a year in benefits'

A SYRIAN refugee with four wives and 23 children has sparked outrage after it was claimed he was receiving a staggering £320,000 a year in benefits.

The migrant, known only as Ghazia A, fled Syria last year along with his family.

He has since resettled in Germany with his four wives and 22 of his children. One of his daughters has since moved to Saudi Arabia where she has married.

The family could be receiving more than £320,000 a year in benefits according to a financial manager on the Employers’ Association website.

There is no official confirmation on this figure.

Under Islamic tradition, the 49-year-old can have up to four wives – as long as he can support them financially.

Germany does not legally recognise polygamy, meaning that Ghazia A was forced to choose a “main wife” so the rest of the family could claim benefits. The other three wives are categorised as “friends” of the Syrian migrant.

But a local official in the town of Montabaur described the situation as an “exemption”.

Ghazia A now lives with his “main” wife Twasif and their five children in Montabaur, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate – while the other three wives and children have been moved into neighbouring communities up to 31 miles away.

The man used to work in a garage and car hire service in his homeland but has not worked since resettling in Germany.

He expressed an interest in working again but noted his commitments to his family made this difficult.

He told German newspaper Bild: "In our religion it is my duty to visit every family and to be with them.”

One of Ghazia’s neighbours, Sergei Jaufmann, said: "The children play football in the street. The mother I often see, when it comes from shopping."

Social media users vented their frustrations, with one claiming “the Syrian with 4 women and 23 children is now being sold to us as a new normality”.

Hoje, leio que um padre, chamado Reverendo Dennis Holtschneider, presidente da maior universidade católica dos Estados Unidos, a DePaul University, condenou estudantes por eles defenderem a vida, por eles fazerem manifestação contra o aborto. O padre chamou os estudantes de "fanáticos".

Lembrei de um artigo fantástico, do filósofo Anthony Esolen, que tem o seguinte título "What Do You Do When the Persecution Comes" (traduzindo: "O Que Você Fará Quando a Perseguição Chegar).

Nesse artigo, Esolen mostra os diversos tipos de católicos frente a perseguição a católicos. Ele mostra que os católicos farão guerra contra outros católicos. Pois muitos que se dizem católicos odeiam as doutrinas da Igreja ou não a defendem (por preguiça ou desinteresse) ou se acham melhores do que a Igreja.

São 4 tipos de Católicos:

1) O Perseguidor. Aquele que Perseguirá os Católicos e a Igreja. Este odeia a Igreja. Ele deseja destruir a Igreja por dentro. Ele exalta o mundo. Tem desprezo por João Paulo II e pelo Papa Bento XVI (INTERESSANTE QUE ESOLEN NÃO CITA O PAPA FRANCISCO). O perseguidor sempre está do lado do Estado na luta contra a Igreja. Ele deseja que a Igreja aceite o aborto e o casamento gay e que as instituições católicas façam abortos e casamentos gays.

2) O Traidor. Aquele que renega a Igreja. Este não odeia a Igreja, mas também não a ama. Deseja ardentemente ser aceito pelo mundo. Acredita no futuro. Este acho é o tipo mais comum no Brasil. Pode até ser padre e bispo, mas muito raramente defende a Igreja e fica até feliz em fechar paróquias, culpando outros por isso. O traidor deseja que a Igreja adote o mundo, acredita que o mundo moderno sabe mais do que a Igreja. Ele costuma ressalatar os erros da Igreja e até inventar erros da Igreja.

3) O Vingador. Este tentou viver de acordo com os ensinamentos da Igreja e sofreu perseguição e retaliação por isso. E essa perseguição destruiu o amor que ele tem pela a Igreja, ele passou a odiar a Igreja. Condena a Igreja por não seguir os ensinamentos de Cristo e por isso deseja que a Igreja seja destruída. Por vezes, o vingador é um tradicionalista por outras vezes é um que odeia os tradicionalistas. O vingador não luta contra a revoilução sexual, o relativismo, o globalismo, a corrupção das crianças, nada. Ele não luta. Ele não vai para guerra, a não ser que ele mesmo determine a estratégia, que ele seja o general.

4) O Soldado. O soldado não reclama dos seus superiores porque os superiores dão péssimas ordens, ele reclama porque os superiores não dão ordem alguma. O soldado que ir para a guerra e está pronto para liderar. Ele sabe que a guerra é um inferno, mas que nem ele nem a Igreja são culpados pela guerra. Os demônios que levaram à guerra é que procuraram destruir a Igreja. O soldado prefere a paz, ele prefere que seu país e seu povo seja mais santo e que a Igreja seja livre. O soldado não diz: "só farei guerra se meus supeiores forem sábios". Ele não diz: "só farei guerra se eu não lutar do lados dos protestantes, dos tradicionalistas, outros cristãos, ou pessoas ecumênicas". O soldado agradece pelos irmãos em armas, e se seus uniformes forem um pouco diferente, ele pensa que no fim Cristo resolverá. O soldado não é Poliana, ele sabe que sofrerá muitas tribulações, mas sabe também que no fim Jesus vence. O soldado não recusa fartura, mas também não se afasta do jejum. Ele deseja glória para Igreha. Ele consegue atrair gente para a Igreja. Ele se sente mais feliz em atrair gente para Cristo do que em jantares ricos.

Esolen termina desejando que todos nós sejamos soldados. Faço minhas as palavras dele. Que todos nós sejamos soldados, pois já estamos em guerra até contra outros católicos.

The PersecutorFirst are the Persecutors. These people hate the Church, and that is why they remain ostensible members of it. They desire from within to punish the Church for what they perceive to be her sins, which these days have nothing to do with her teachings on the Trinity or the nature of Christ, but with sex—so tawdry are our heresies. O Arius, Arius, would that we had such as you for our enemy! The Persecutor has unbridled contempt for Pope John Paul II, the too-lenient father whom the Persecutor, like a spoiled brat, portrays as a tyrant, and for Benedict XVI, whose broad-ranging and penetrating intellect makes the Persecutor feel puny by comparison.

In all conflicts between the State and the Church, the Persecutor will not only side with the State; he will be glad to lead the charge. He will, to give one recent example from Connecticut, push a bill designed to subject the governance of Catholic parishes to state oversight. He will, to give a current example from New York, attempt to compel Catholic crisis pregnancy centers to refer women to the nearest abortorium. He will be eager to threaten Catholic schools with loss of government funds if they remain Catholic—if, for instance, they think it is not a good idea to sponsor groups committed to Sodom, and let them massage the minds of children. But why do I use the generic masculine pronoun here? She—she will want to compel Catholic interns to assist in abortions, or even to perform one; she will want to compel Catholic parishes to allow their grounds and their halls to be used for the celebration of pseudogamy. Religious freedom? The Persecutor respects neither God nor the conscience of man.

The QuislingSecond, the Quislings. The Quisling does not hate the Church, but he does not love her, either. He is a worldling and craves the approval of the world. He believes in “the future,” and that means he is easy prey for the peddlers of ideological fads: a field mouse against the Great Horned Owl. He is embarrassed by tradition. He is seldom brave enough to express formal heresy, just as he is seldom brave enough to defend the Church with any clarity or confidence. He seems pleasant enough, is perfectly lamb-like when it comes to wining and dining with the powerful, but will turn with a pent-up frustration against the ordinary churchgoer who dares to question his prudence. If he is a bishop, he is secretly happy to close churches and sell off their property, comforting himself with the thought that he is doing what is only necessary in hard times, and blaming the parishioners themselves for failing to bring up their children in the faith—when in point of fact he and the chancery have given them no help at all in doing so, and have usually checked them at every pass.

The Quisling wants the state to bring the Church into “the modern world,” whatever that may be; it depends upon the times and the place. Oh, he does not want the compulsion to be violent, and he can intone pontifically about the sanctity of individualconscience; so long as the individual with the tender conscience keeps it to himself, where it will remain ineffectual and inert, like a seed on concrete. The Quisling, with a sad and knowing shake of his head, pleases himself by meditating upon the many sins of his Holy Mother the Church, and will magnify them, or even invent sins that she never committed, the better to prove to himself how open-minded and pious he is.

The AvengerThen comes the Avenger. He has tried to live in accord with the Church, and has received mainly contempt from her, or neglect, or persecution. That has curdled him within, and he now hates the Church such as she is more than he loves her as the bride of Christ. He sees that the Church has compromised herself by taking Caesar’s coin, even when Caesar offered it at first with the most innocent of intentions, and so he looks forward to the time when Holy Mother will have to do without that money. It occurs to him that that will kill an untold number of Catholic schools and colleges, but he says that they deserve to die; and he does not clearly consider how many souls will be lost. To him, it is better that there should be no Catholic school at all, than that there should be a school struggling to remain Catholic in a bad time—struggling, and often failing, but struggling for all that.

The Avenger makes conversion more difficult, not less, for people who still wish to believe in Christ but who have bought, usually without much thought, the confusions of our time. The Avenger enjoys rejection, enjoys loss, because that gives him a fine opportunity to meditate upon his courage. Sometimes the Avenger is a traditionalist. Sometimes he is a hater of the traditionalist. Whether he is one or the other, he does not aim his rifle at the terrible enemies of the Church from without: he does not fight the materialist, the sexual revolutionary, the radical secularist, the globalist, the corrupter of children, or the hawker of filth. He aims his rifle at Catholics, and many of them will be good Catholics who disagree with him about strategy. The Avenger will not go forth to war unless he approves the strategy in all its details, which of course will never happen. He prefers to be an armchair general rather than to be a private slogging in the trenches.

The SoldierLast we have the Soldier. The Soldier complains about his superiors not because they give him bad orders, but because they give him no orders at all. He wants to do battle,and is willing to be led. He knows that war is hell, but that he and the Church have not sought the war. The war and the demons who lead it have sought the Church, to adulterate her or to kill her. The Soldier would prefer peace: he would prefer that his country might return to at least a worldly sanity, and grant the Church the liberty that she is owed and that redounds to the great benefit of the state itself.

The Soldier does not say, “I will fight, but my generals must be perfectly wise.” Generals are never perfectly wise or perfectly anything else. The Soldier does not say, “I will fight, but only if I do not have to share the field with these others,” which others may be traditionalists, the ecumenically minded, Protestants friendly to the Catholic Church, or Catholics who disagree with him on some political point. The Soldier is grateful for his brothers in arms, and if their uniforms are a little different from his, he figures that the Lord of Hosts will sort the matter out in the end.

The Soldier does not make light of the desperate situation. His name is not Pollyanna. But he remembers the words of Jesus: “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.” The Soldier will not refuse a hearty meal, but he will not grumble if he has to fast. The Soldier is filled with thymos: his eyes narrow and look to the horizon; his nostrils flare and his heart beats with excitement; he sings Rise Up, O Men of God; he craves honor, most of all the honor of the Church; he does not care who calls him a fool. He is immensely attractive and wins the respect even of his enemies. He brings both men and women into the Church without that being his principal aim, because it is sweeter to spend one day in the field with the Soldier than a thousand in the halls of the wealthy, the powerful, the timid, the faithless, and the mad.

May God grant us the grace to be Soldiers—all of us, now. The war is here.

Concordo plenamente com o arcebispo Charles Chaput, já passou da hora da Igreja parar de se misturar com o mundo. E mostrar ao mundo secular quais são os seus princípios, defendendo-os. Chega de diálogo com o pecado. Pecado, a gente destrói.

Mas o Papa só fala em se misturar.

É claro que a Igreja deve estar onde estão os pecadores, mas não é para aceitar o pecado e sim para corrigi-lo. O mundo não quer uma Igreja Santa, quer que ela aceite o pecado.
